Shirley's Story
My husband Robert and I were married June 29th, 1953. Our 1st two house were in Van Nuys, CA. Raised our daughter and 3 boys in Thousand Oaks, CA. All married and have 8 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Robert retired from construction and we moved to Port Orford, OR. Lived there about five years. Second year we were there we had 160 to 180 MPH gusts of wind. r almost 10 years. Sold the house and traveled the USA coast to coast. Best 10 years of our lives.
We decided that we had better go back into a house because of health problems and we bought a house in Bend, OR. Lived there for 9 years. Left because we could not handel the ice. Plus it was voted #1 place for active seniors ad it became to populated. So we moved to Florence, OR. We are staying put. Even though again right after we moved to Florence it was voted #1 place for seniors to live. Can't win for losing. Ha Ha!
