Shirley's Story

When you put GOD first into your Life, then Everything else just falls in place. Moving to the ATLANTA area has given me an opportunity to spread my wings a little further as DETROIT will ALWAYS be 'Hometown', but I have a place where I now call 'Home' here. I visit DETROIT at least twice a year (SORRY, can't do winter months anymore unless I have to) especially since most of my 'HOMIES' as well as Family are still there. I sit back and regroup on my School days as I mostly worked with Teachers helping with Attendance Records and also Filing as I knew who had what on their Report Cards and who was Cutting Classes the most (You know who you are!). I can Actually say that through ALL my years in School I was considered 'The Teachers Pet' as I was ALWAYS willing to go that Extra Mile in learning Business Skills and Not to 'Toot' My Own Horn, but I was also a little Smarter than Most and would Help in Tutoring who I could. I learned Organizing and Management skills which lead me to handle any situation that was thrown at me in the Work force as well as doing Business on my own. My FAVORITE School was SAMPSON ELEMENTARY. SAMPSON was a School that had Values and each Teacher took time out to Teach us not only the basic Studies of Education, but also in Life. The learning process there was Enormous as I took that along with me in Life. I tell many people that when we moved and I had to go to another School, it seems like they were 'Behind' a few Levels of Learning (Sorry, but it's True) as I had learned most of it 2 grades before as we were 'Suppose' to have moved to a Better Neighborho...Expand for more
od as well as School. I enjoyed GUEST ELEMENTARY also as the Teachers there were Similar but more on Education even if they were a bit slower from what I had already learned. CERVENY MIDDLE I Actually 'Hated' with a Passion. The Teachers could care less if we roamed the hall or skipped classes which led me into doing so at the time. I was Thankful to have only went there for 1 year as that was Damage enough. Now COOLEY HIGH was C-O-O-L. The Teachers were Down to Earth but Stressed on Education. Oh, I Hung like Wet Clothes, but learned alot during that time. All in All, I met GREAT Friends as I Wonder what some are doing and how to get in touch. I have been BLESSED to give my Life to GOD as I spread HIS GLORIOUS WORD (JESUS) as well as my own Testimonies of my life so that others can begin to see the LIGHT of who HE is. I see myself more of a 'SPIRITUAL' person than a 'RELIGIOUS' one. My connection with others are from the SOUL of the HEART and NOT just from the WORDS of one's MOUTH. I joined this Website to see how my old Classmates are doing as I PRAY that EVERYONE has found their own niche of PURPOSE in their lives. I have had Contact with many Classmates just from this sight as we have Laughed and Reminisced on Old Times. Looking forward to hearing from more as some have Signed my Guest Book, but you have no Info on your Profile or haven't Joined the Classmates Website so You can be Contacted by Me or Others. Give it a try as it took me a while to join, but found it was Worth every dollar to hear from Old Friends. BLESSINGS TO ALL!!!
