Shirley Jackson-Johnson:

CLASS OF 1966
Detroit, MI

Shirley's Story

Life Married twice, soon to be divorced, one son. Worked for Esther Gordy Edwards at Motown while they were in Detroit, managed an art gallery in Detroit for 9 years, worked for MGM Casino for the investors. Moved to Vegas in September 2005. Children My son Sean is fulfilling his life dream as a writer, film director, producer. He will soon move to California to do a writing Internship at CBS TV. Yay for Sean. Retired Life I am now a jewelry artist and will soon publish this book I've been working on for several years. I certainly have a lot to share. Now, let's see... oh yes, pets! My beautiful white and gray Himalayan Cat, with the prettiest blue eyes ever, passed a couple years ago. I still miss having her around. My cutey Shih Tzu/Maltese/Terrier named Kyle is now the love of my life. He is sweet, adorable and bad. Okay, I'm starting to talk about my pets like little old ladies usually do. But, I'm not old...just getting better with age! (or so I tell myself). Trying to live right and stay sane in this crazy world! Sometimes I do so wish to go back to those good ol' high school days where the only thing I really worried about was hair, clothes and boys. Bucket List My wish is to travel to see: the Great Wall of China, check out the fine, older Greek men in Santorini Greece, the beautiful green country side of Ireland, Flamenco dancers in Spain, and the Moulin Rouge cabaret in France. AND one more ...Expand for more
crazy wish is to jump out of the airplane. Out of all of these I plan to accomplish at least two and it probably won't be the airplane jump. Life is moving really fast now so we must move with it and live, love, and play NOW. Tomorrow isn't even promised to the young so LIVE NOW FOR YOURSELF AND FORGET WHAT THE WORLD TRIES TO SIGN YOU UP FOR. HAVE YOUR OWN AGENDA. PEACE AND LOVE FROM THE GEMINI. NOTICE: BEING A GEMINI THIS WHOLE SPIEL MAY CHANGE TOMORROW LOL High School I had some major crushes on several guys back then some of whom I am still in touch. I also had a crush on my English Teacher, Arthur Leib, who really inspired me. That was one class I really looked forward to attending...also because he was cute! My love for literature, poetry, reading, all comes from my Mom and Mr. Leib. If I could do it all over again, I would but only if I could do it with the knowledge I have now. But then it might not be that enjoyable because "wisdom" stops you from doing foolish things! C'est la vie! One of my craziest school memories was "Skip Day" around the time of Senior graduation. I actually skipped school but was soooo worried that my parents would find out that I did not enjoy it! So, what was the use! I can laugh about it now, but back then I think I worried for an entire week that they would find out. I would love to hear from all of you with whom I associated, knew and loved in High School. STAY BLESSED.
