Shirleyanne's Story
I am an artist, but not a painter, and I am also married to an artist. I taught Art for many years but I am retired now and enjoy substituting in the Behavior, and Special Needs Program in our local school. My Maine Teacher certification includes: Art and Gifted Education.I am going to take some courses in Special Education to keep my Certification active.
L.L.Bean Customer Service is my part-time job in Waterville, Maine.They are closing down this Call Center;and I plan transition into a Home Based worker.
"Exoptica" is my husbands Web site creation, but I am included if you would like to see some of my Artwork.

I always wanted to be a Social Worker when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a not a good idea. As it turns out, they were only partially right.
When I stopped working full-time and went to school full-time, Art just "sucked me in."

e, I devoted all my time to art making and became well known in the State of Maine.
The call to motherhood was too great and I put art making on hold after I had my first son. After my second son, teaching Art became a good way to help support my family.
My center was my family. But, I learned that my two sons had a mind of their own, and they make individual choices, both went in totally opposite directions as adults.
Now, I like to veg out in front of the TV, do physical exercise, then take a hot steamy bath.
To be truly happy, I would have enough money to concentrate on making art without having to bother with other work. I would have a live in housekeeper to pick up after me. My mother did that for me for many years. But she has passed away now, and I never got in the habit of doing it myself.
60 years more to live is my aspiration, so I am just entering Middle Age. There is still too much on my mind to get done.
