Marini's Story
My story. Well, after a failed attempt at Westark (when it was just Westark), I joined the Air Force. While serving in England, I met my hubby - a yankee from Michigan - and we married at the base chapel in England in 1982. Shortly after, we moved to Vandenberg AFB, CA and had a precious daughter in June 1983. We spent the next 22 years traveling all over the world to different military bases (Germany, Korea, Philippines). Hubby finally retired out of Patrick AFB, FL. We worked in the private sector at JB Hunt in Lowell, AR for 4 years. After my dad passed, hubby took a civil service job in San Antonio and we lived there for 6 years. Nov 09, he took a promotion job to Germany and we've been here since then.
I've worked as a secretary in civil service for almost 24 years. I recently retired with a disability retirement. Health is not good, but such is life. Hubby will retire (for the 3rd time) in 10 years! Our daughter is 31, married, and living in Springfield, MO. ...Expand for more
We have land in Marion, TX and will build our retirement home there.
Love to travel and really enjoyed being an Air Force member and spouse. Missed the 10 year reunion cuz we were in Germany (the 1st time). Missed the 20 year, cuz we were in Korea. Will miss the 35th cuz we're back in Germany again! lol. Maybe we'll make the 40th? Being in the Air Force has given us so many travel opportunities, especially overseas. I have loved it. Still do.
I have been the worship leader at many churches during my life. Currently, I am the Worship Leader at Chapel Next Daenner Kaserne in Germany. Music has always been the strongest draw in my life, specifically praise and worship music. Ms. Massey had the most profound influence on my life and I loved her dearly. Many times I would care for her mother on Sundays while she went to church.
So, that's it. It's fun catching up with many of you. I had a pretty good time in high school, especially at football games and in choir.
