Sidney's Story
Workplace
After high school, I went into the Marines. Then attended University of Colorado in Boulder, CO. Worked at a sandwich shop (1890's Resteurant) on campus for two semester. Quit college and worked at Nobel/Sysco Food, Round the Corner Resteurant, Electrician's Unlimited, McDonald's, Skyline International, and a factory. I was also in the Marine Corps reserve as a military policeman in Aurora, CO.
I transferred to a Force Reconnaissance Marine reserve unit in Reno, Nevada and to the University of Nevada. I worked as a hasher or houseman for the Pi Beta Phi sorority during college...Expand for more
. After graduation, I worked at Harrah's Casino Hotel as a valet parker, then at the hotel as a front desk clerk and finally as the Hotel Training Coordinator.
I was accepted to Marine Corps Officer Candidate School in Quantico Virginia, completed that training and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Marines and have remained in the Marines since.
I've served in the Marines in the following locations: Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Maryland, California, Hawaii, Cuba, Japan, Korea, Germany, England, Norway, Denmark, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Oman, Turkey, and Thailand.
