Eileen's Story
I was rather quiet in high school. I didn't fit in with most of the popular groups and had a difficult home life. One of the best things that happened was when I was asked to leave high school in my senior year due to repeated absences and attend Ridgeway Continuation for the remainder of the year. I was allowed to graduate with my class, but leave the school grounds immediately after receiving my diploma. At Ridgeway I learned practical skills that allowed me to secure a part time job and learn to be responsible for myself. I wish I remembered the name of the male instructor that was so helpful to me and the other 'difficult' students. Perhaps one of you will help me to remember.

are all happy, productive people. After working a few years, I returned to school and earned a Masters in Social Work. Afterwards I was accepted to a special program in Sweden and earned my PhD at Stockholm University. This experience led to a love of travel and work in many countries plus a 3 year stint in the Peace Corps.
My husband and I are currently enjoying a 5 year plan of traveling in Europe. We have just begun our second year, having spend 6 months in Sweden, 6 months in the UK and now 3 months in France. We sold our home and cars and have a small storage back in California but don't plan to settle down anytime soon.
I hope to attend the reunion although most likely won't remember many people or be remembered. But 50 years is an amazing milestone and I'd like to celebrate with all of you.
