Lynda's Story

You may remember me as the "Skinny Majorette". Well you might be interested in knowing that a few years and a few pounds later I can still twirl that shinny stick. Fire baton and all. I had a majorette school back in the early 70's. That was fun. As you may or may not know I married Tom Perkins from Narbonne in 1964 and divorced in 1976. I have two beautiful daughters Traci (44) and Teri (41) from that marriage. I then married Guy Snyder in 1981. We have a daughter Lynsi (28). Lynsi's father passed away on December 4, 1999. I have an active interest in creating shelters for abused women and children. I serve as a board member for our charitable foundation for the family business. I lived on a ranch raising South American llamas for 21 years. I did have 66 llamas but we have dropped down to 10. I am no longer raising llamas as a business but as a hobby. i, also, have Great Pyrenese Mountain dogs that guard the llamas against mountain lions and other predators. I live on top of a mountain with sunsets that are out of this world. My husband Guy passed away in 1999 and I lived without a man on that mountain until 2003 when I married Jon Paul Kelbaugh, We had a great life together ranching and traveling all over the world together. We had just returned from Switzerland in August and he passed away on Sept 29, 2009. He had endured 6 months of chemo which put his Leukemia in remission. He had just been checked and the doctors affirmed that he was doing great and that his Leukemia was in remission and had remained there for 15 months. He suffered a sudden heart attack and dropped dead with no sympt...Expand for more
oms at all. Our blended family consists of 4 children (4 daughters), 9 grandchildren ranging from 2 years to 29 years of age. Keeping up with my big family has been a full time job. My youngest daughter Lynsi lives 7 miles from me and has a set of 10 year boy and girl twins, a 6 year old son and a 2 year old son. My daughter Teri and her husband Shawn own a thrift store called New Unto Others. My three daughters their families all live within 7 miles of my southern CA home in Glendora. Jon Paul's daughter Tammie lives in Northern CA. She recently married a wonderful man and has a daughter and a granddaughter. I am blessed with Godly children and grandchildren. Jon Paul and I had gone to the 1960's THS Reunions in October each year for three years. They were allot of fun. I was on the committee that put together the 50th reunion in 2012 for our class. It was a huge success. If you are reading this, be sure to sign my guest book so I will know that you are thinking of me. Also, check out my photo album. I am trying to adjust to being single again but I will admit that I prefer being married!! I travel back and forth between my ranch in northern CA and my home in southern CA... I am fortunate enough to have great health and I enjoy life...traveling is my passion. I have been on every continent in the world except Antartica. Send me a note and tell me about you. I hope to see you in Sept when Torrance High celebrates it's 100 year anniversary. My little sister Sandy (THS '69) and her husband Larry are flying in from New York and will be attending with me. Hope to see you there. .. Lynda

I Salute “National Daughters Day”. These are my three daughters and my three granddaughters, as well.
One of my favorite costumes down through the years Cruella Deville. I must give credit to my makeup artist …My daughter Lynsi Snyder Ellingson.
This is a photo I took some few months back on an outing on my friends boat a few months back. Notice the North Star in the distance back on the right.

I don't have to leave Glendora to enjoy a majestic sunset
I found a pair of ice skates at Teri and Shawn's New Unto Others, thrift store. I put some silk flowers in them along with some silk pine greenery and holly. I placed them at my front door as a Christmas welcome arrangemen

It has been wonderful spending time with my fellow Army of Love warriors, touring Israel. It was difficult to say goodbye to David Tal, our travel guide and friend. He did an excellent job of bringing the past to life. We
