Life So where to begin? I left East St. Louis in 1986 during the flood. I joined the Army and my first duty station was Fort Jackson South Carolina. I also did my AIT military school there. I was permanent party there for about two weeks. I left there and was stationed at Fort Leononwood (the spelling is questionable, but oh well) I left there and was stationed in Fort Lee Virginia and then Boeblingen Germany where I met my wonderful Husband! I was married and became pregnant with my first child. Our next duty station was Colorado Springs. I gave birth to both of my children there at Fort Carson. I absolutely loved this place and would love to move back there when our children grow up and leave the nest. From there we were stationed at Fort Gordon Georgia. This worked because everyone who really knows me, knows that on the inside i am really a southern bell(ha ha ha). Something inside of me snapped while we were in Georgia, because I just got a great desire to be closer to family. My husband and I agreed and we moved to back to Illinos. I am really glad that I did. We moved to Illinois in 97 and my mother's cancer resurfaced in 99. We lost her in 2003. This event broke my soul and rocked our family's foundation to the core.
