Sonny's Story

Life Two adult children (Eric-23 and Aimee-25). Wife Michelle was a teacher in Corvallis, Albany, Reedsport and Salem. Also, training manager for Spirit Mt. Spent ten years as a counselor, eight years in research/program management, and executive management for the State. I always wanted to be a counselor when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have Altoids, Coffee, and gummie bears to be able to deal with the day-to-day. James Dean was someone who impressed me as a boy. His persona continues even after death. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Linn Duell, because he left so soon.. Love Survivor, Lost, Biggest Loser, college football, the ocean. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the baths and add on a deck. My dream home would be a beach house.. It's never too late for change, people who are obnoxious are often successful, never leave small tomato plants alone with your two-year old. If I won $100 million, I'd give $50 million of it to Dornbecker, then spend the rest on family, friends and ME!!. Never a cave dweller or Greek God. Had my own place since I was 18 and lived close to campus. Taught econ my senior year and worked at all the concerts and athletic events. My current age is 39:). When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be out of date. I was so completely right!. Wanted to finish my MS, become a counselor and eventually program director: been there, done that, and now just want to build decks. My best friend would tell...Expand for more
you I'm insightful, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as puzzling . Constants: jeans, t-shirts, and blue denim work shirts. Dress up: Dockers, loafers, and a hot tie. We had many things in common, both upside and down, and enjoyed competition. Met in the 7th grade, having several classes together. Getting hired by Roland Hall to clean his house on weekends. I always wanted to be a counselor when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right. UPDATE: Thirty years ago, I became (I think) the first of CHS Class of 67 to undergo open-heart surgery. I was 38 at the time and with a young family, I recall being very nervous about the whole thing. As it turned out, the process was not nearly as traumatic as I had thought, especially waking up to Carole Ramsey shaving my chest (I don't think any others in CHS-67 can claim that honor!). And, because things went so well the first time, I've decided to do it again. Don't think I can get Carole to come out of retirement though, so I will just have to persevere. With all the technology changes and new methods developed since the last time they cracked my chest, I am bound to be amazed . Not to worry, my health is great and I really have no symptoms. It's just an aneurism on my aorta, near the heart, that must be taken care of. The down side is I will miss most of the summer golf season I was so looking forward to playing. So if any of you are up to a game around early September, contact me as I will be anxious to get back on the links. My best ! Sonny

Forty-two years with the sweetest Canook this side of Edmonton! Who would have thought ordering a French national beverage would lead to this.

In 1987, gasoline was about $1 a gallon across the US. Here's my family that same year:
