Stacey's Story
Life
For any of those who might remember me, Hi.
After Edison (where I was pretty unsocial), I spent about a year fooling around at going to school. I quickly realized I wasn't ready for more school. Not knowing what I really wanted to do, I joined the Coast Guard and left Huntington Beach. I spent a couple months in boot camp, then ended up being on a ship out of San Francisco. The best way I can discribe those first couple of years...Remember the movie Pvt. Benjamin with Goldie Hawn...I've been stationed in Miami, Fl (not the same as CA beaches!), Long Beach, Washinton DC, Sonoma County and now I'm back in Washinton DC. I met and married my husband Charlie in the mid 80's, while stationed in Long Beach. ys shocked to say I'm still in the Coast Guard, and still enjoy it. My favorite job so far has been to manage Search and Rescue for the northern CA coast and west to Lake Tahoe. My current job is determining a method to measure work to determine manning standards. My singel attempt at being a parent was to raise my step son from age 10 (he's 25 now) I will be retiring from the Coast Guard in Jul, 2008, then I'll have to figure out what I want to do... Hobbies include beer and wine tasting, seeing good blues shows and jewlery making. Life has been, and continues to be good.
I enjoyed growing up in HB, sometimes I'm amazed that I actually lived through it. I visit every so often, brings back memories...
