Stacy's Story
Life
So so busy lately!! Alec, my big boy, has just started preschool. So far, he loves it, but it's too early to tell if it will continue...during our first day, he turned and gave me a thumbs-up while playing with a puzzle, so that's a good sign!!
Getting used to being here in Lancaster, and it's not so lonely...as a stay-at-home mom, I still don't have tons of friends, but with Alec now in preschool, I am meeting more mommies, and our MOPS (Moms of Preschoolers) group starts up again this week, so I will be spending time with more people, and the boys love going because it's playtime for them, too...
Still miss Panama City, however we went back for vacation in April, and realized that we don't miss it as much as we thought we did...we will always love our old house there, but the new owner isn't keeping it up the way we would have, which in a weird way made it easier to see...I really thought it would be too hard for me to see it while we were there, but at one point, I had no choice, as our old neighbors asked us to come over for dinner. nd I took a trip there a couple of months after we moved up here, because I was in my best friend's sister's wedding, so of course, anxiety over seeing our old house notwithstanding, we had to go.
And my baby boy, Gavin, has had his ups and downs...he had tubes put in back in April after too many ear infections to count, so his speech was definitely not where Alec's was at his age...he's just started talking in two and three word sentences over the past couple of weeks, where Alec was using full sentences at 19 months (Gavin turned 2 on Sept. 2nd). Still, he's not behind for his age, but it's hard not to compare the two...and on a positive note, he had his cardiology follow-up for his heart murmur, and the hole they found on echocardiogram at 5 weeks of age has completely closed, so we are feeling blessed after getting such good news!
Other than that, just living life here in PA...we are home about once a month, on the average, though less after Alec's birthday in January, just because of the weather, until around May...hate the ride, though! Too long, though the boys are good travelers, thankfully!
