Stan's Story
After gratulating from McKinleyville High School, I went to College of the Redwoods and attend Redwoods Center Police Academy. I worked as a reserve deputy sheriff with Humboldt County Sheriff Department and join the National Park Service Redwood National Park as a Law Enforcement seasonal park ranger living in my home town of Orick. In 1983 I transferred to Lake Mead National Recreation area as a Law Enforcement seasonal back country park ranger. In 1984 I joined the Boulder City Police Department in Boulder City, Nevada as a Reserve Police Officer. In December of 1984 the government cut several seasonal park ranger positions. I applied at a casino with my law enforcement experience and was hired. I worked at Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall until I was transferred to the Corporate Office in 1989. l 1995 which I was promoted to Director of Risk Management. In 2002 I left the Boulder City Police Department after serving 18 years. In 2005 I was elected to the Self Insurance Institute of America as Vice President of Operations, 2006 as President and 2007 as Chairman of the Board In 2006 I was promoted to Vice President of Risk Management. In November of 2008 I was transferred to the position of Vice President of Emergency Management overseeing Security, Safety, Marine Operations and General Services. I currently service on the Nevada Council of Citizen Corp and the Nevada Homeland Security Finance Committee.
I am married with two children and two grand children. I live in Henderson Nevada, with my 9 year old son and wife.
I have enjoyed when fellow classmates come to Las Vegas so that we can party, just remember what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
