Stan's Story
Stan's schools include Earl L. Vandermeulen High School. Stan later attended Stony Brook University (Electrical Engineering) . I attended Potsdam for about a year. Being smart turned out to be a double edged sword, because I had no clue how to study.
I attended Port Jeff for my senior year, but the rest of high school was in Babylon. I decided to become writer after some success in journalism. Then I moved to Greenwich Village and then to Paris. It was an interesting time. DeGaulle died, Jim Morrison died and Cassius Clay lost. Did my Hemingway thing, Read Ayn Rand in Paris and decided I was a capitalist and moved back to Brooklyn. After several years of odd jobs and starvation I decided to get an engineering degree at Stony Brook. Graduated in 1979. Moved to Los Angeles for engineering job in aerospace building stuff for the Marine Corps.

moved to Cupertino, around the corner from Apple headquarters, for my first tech sales job. I got that job because I had worked while at Stony Brook, for a company Hauppauge The VP there later became the VP of several disk drive manufacturers and the founding SVP of Sandisk. I became one of his sales reps in Sunnyvale, CA. In the late 80"s I was proselytizing for something called the Internet in Silicon Valley. It would be a while before Netscape and the world wide web arrived on the scene around 1995. In the early eighties I married and in 1992 our daughter was born.She is now attending school in Canada.
Three years ago I was lucky enough to get a second chance at marriage. I was introduced to a women who had worked at the same place in Hauppauge that I did a year later. We have been happily married.
I keep busy with my software start up. The fourth one.
