Stan G's Story
To all of my classmates...
Days of old...Days up to now
Good and bad memories
Through life's fields we plow.
Some make us happy
From others we learn
When the present seems empty
To the past we oft turn.
Some of them gone
Some still with us
Friends and memories
Always...Live on.
In memory of David Jarrell...SgN

PIGEON-HOLES
A friend recently sent a note listing three kinds of friends:
> For a Reason: a basic formulation because we find ourselves in need of someone who possesses something or has special skills that we need â usually a short-lived relationship.
> For a Season: may involve related feelings leading to a meaningful relationship - an actual bonding. It may last longer but weariness, argument, money, distance, or outsiders can bring on its demise.
> For a Lifetime: a rare, difficult to sustain bonding not necessarily like a marriage...but is often similar. It can exist over great distances, and is based upon mutual interest, respect and above all else, Honesty!
Only work, respect, and honesty can maintain the memories and sustain a friendship, no matter the category into which one tries to pigeon-hole it.
For my own part, I seldom think of my friends as fitting into these categories. If they allowed me to call them Friend, each was worthwhile, meaningful, above the level of an acquaintance.
To those of you who have touched my life...I remember. If I touched your life...I'm humbled.
