Stanley's Story
For anyone who cares:
Joined the Navy in 1945 and served on an Escort Carrier (USS Petrof Bay). got only as far as a First Class Petty Officer -Electronics ..Discharged in 1949.
Married a girl from Tennessee in 1949 (met her in Chicago.
Have 4 Children, 8 Grandchildren and (so far) 5 great-grandchildren.
Worked in Electronics for Motorola while attending advanced school (BS in electronics engineering)
Lived in California until 1957 and moved to Chicago
Worked for Univac (Now part of Unisys) and then for United Airlines as an installation engineer for large scale computers.
Retired to Dunnigan, CA in 1991.
Have type 2 diabetes and on July 2nd had a pacemaker installed. (The greatest place to have a heart attack is in the Emergency Room of a Hospital.)
Doing fine because my Lovely wife, Georgia Louise, is taking good care...Expand for more
of me and keeps me in line (somewhat..only while she's looking.) We'll be celebrating our 60th anniversary on Jan. 1, 2009.
If Miss Letson (My High School English teacher) was still around around she would find that I still have to "BOOM" and am still guilty of the quick responses a-la-Groucho Marx (My idol)
I am a right wing Republican but still enjoy a good joke about either party.
I am also a Christian who happens to attend a Conservative Baptist Church. I do not believe that only Baptists are scheduled for Heaven. That's reserved for those who accept the sacrifice tht was make for them about 2000 years ago and have a personal relationship with Christ...No matter what church they attend.. AND I will not get in the face of anyone who attends a different church or disagress with me. SO MUCH FOR THE SERMON OF THE DAY.
