Stanley "Jack" Regula:

CLASS OF 1963
Riverhead, NY

Stanley "Jack"'s Story

Life Married Jane Stakey who died in July 2012 after a 2 year fight with cancer. 2 children - Elizabeth Ann, named for her Aunt Liz Stakey, Class of '68, and her Grandmother Ann Regula, Class of '42, and Kristin Regula Heidkamp (named for famous Swede, I suspect.) Graduated from Southampton College in 1968 (slow learner), then in the Navy for 22 1/4 years - A-6 pilot among other things. Masters degree in 1980. Retired in 1991 - went to work for Continental Airlines as a local agent in 1993. First grandson born Feb 2001 -George Edward Heidkamp (named after his mother - it's a long story) followed by a heart attack in Feb 2004 (which I obviously survived), then a granddaughter in 2003 (Jane) and another in 2005 (Lilly). Totally retired in 2004 and still living in Virginia Beach. Falling apart a little at a time (as I'm sure many of us are) but trying hard to wring the most out of what life remains. I'm convinced that grandchildren are your reward for not killing your kids, despite the provocation. Over-weight, 85% bald on top and still talk to Ricky Schmersal every once in a while. Recently obtained a '65 Corvair Corsa convertible which is in good shape, considering. Will use it as slow rebuilding project, although it is very driveable and just passed State Inspection. Had a very nice 50th this July. Stayed with my cousin Tony Regula and his wife Joy - two nicer people you will never meet. Visited a lot of our old "romantic haunt...Expand for more
s" and beaches that Jane loved so much, scattering a few ashes on them per her request. So many of my "old" classmates looked so good, Tim Holls was such a driver, Joanne Krajewski Doroska wasn't there (because of her birds, Ed told us) nor was Susan Ramocki Bradley (who had to come from as far as Manhattan - N.Y., not Kansas, while Kenny Skipka came (Germany) and Wendy Wiswell Akita (Hawaii). The Friday reception was really nice, and the location and the food made the Saturday reunion get-together just perfect. D. J. was terrific. Even met up with Guy Nicosia, George King and his lovely wife Carol Winters King, my cousin "Chippy" Lawrence and his incredible wife Gayle Hafford Lawrence, who may be canonized for putting up with my cousin for all of these years (just joking, Chippy - I have too many fond and precious memories to give you a hard time.) Earl White, George Sandberg, Joe Skipka, Joanne Jacobs, Bonnie T., "Tootsie", Donna Gail, Jeannie Bloss, Richard Ryle, my very old friend "Butch" Langhorn and his lovely wife - so many others. Connie Czelatka Troyan - just where were you? You only live a block away from my cousin Tony's. I would have been proud to escort you. Anyhow, what I thought might be tortuous ended up being very pleasant with the help of classmates that I hadn't seen, in so many cases, in 50 years. I thank you all!! Updates will come every once in a while until they stop coming - in which case,........... Jack
