Stefan's Story
Life
Stefan Bright attended the University of Miami from 1964 thru 1967 majoring in Dramatic Arts.
Returning to New York he got an opportunity to apprentice as a recording engineer in a midtown studio. Over the next year and a half he recorded Jay and the Americans' "This Magic Moment", Billy Joel's "Hour of the Wolf" (his first solo album on United Artists), Richie Havens, Gene McDaniels, The Hassles and The Midnight Movers, the backup band for the Isley Bros.
Joining an independent label, Douglas Records, over the next three years Stefan recorded and produced Jimi Hendrix, John McLaughlin, The Last Poets, Dr. Timothy Leary, Lenny Bruce and Malcolm X. Working with Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin he sang background vocals on the album "Love, Devotion and Surrender". ertising Club of New York's "Andy" award for the best radio spot of the year.
In the mid 1980's Stefan's interest turned to photography and he joined his wife, partnering L.D. Bright Visual Artists. Their combined work has taken them from Bar Harbor, Maine to Palm Beach, Florida as well as stints in The Caribbean, The Bahamas and most recently Round Hill Resort in Jamaica. They have photographed the weddings of Michael Gellman, producer of "Live with Regis and Kathy Lee" and comedian Joe Piscopo, as well as having assignment work with NFL Hall of Famers - Joe Namath, Jack Youngblood of the LA Rams, Mel Blount of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Anthony Munoz of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Articles featuring their work have been published in the New York Times, In Style Magazine, Elegant Bride, Special Events Magazine, and prints have been aired on Oprah and Good Morning America.
