Stephan's Story
Life
After returning from California I finished school in Berlin, Germany with the "Abitur" in 1968. I started studies in Political Science and American Literature at Berlin Free University. At this time I was also involved in some demonstrations against the war in Vietnam. Actually your television reported a lot more about things that went wrong in Vietnam than German TV stations did!
In 1975 I finished studies with the first "Staatsexamen" ( not comparable to American examina) . I could not become a teacher right away because there were too many applicants, so I worked with a small publishing company for almost three years. In 1978 I finally started t...Expand for more
he second "Staatsexamen" - necessary to become a teacher and I successfully completed this in January 1980. Since than I have been a teacher at three different schools in Berlin (English and Political Science).
As far as private life is concerned I have been less successful:
I was married twice - and divorced twice. I'm living with my son (9years) in Berlin whereas my daughter (12 years) chose to live with her mother in Frankfurt.
