Stephanie's Story
Life
I moved to Toronto, Ontario in the fall of '06 and still work for the Union. I am currently leading the Justice for Janitors campaign in Toronto. We are trying to raise living standards for cleaning workers, many of whom are immigrant workers living at or below the poverty level even though they work 2 or 3 jobs.

Workplace
I am a union organizer for the largest labor union in the country. I used to travel all over the country to work on organizing campaigns but finally decided to settle in Seattle last year. I work for a local union, SEIU District 1199NW, an 18,000 member health care employees union. I get paid to cause trouble, so I guess you could say I've found my calling.
