Stephanie's Story
Life
I live in Monmouth,IL with my husband and two of my three children.I also have four dogs and eleven cats.I'm a stay at home mom.I submit articles at the website Associated Content when I get the urge. You can find me there by doing a search using my username whitetigress.
School
I went to Hillcrest Elementary until the end of 2nd grade. I didn't like that school except for my 2nd grade teacher. Then my family moved to Silvis. With the exception of getting picked on in the beginning on the bus by a bunch of 5th graders, I really loved that school, and the junior high too. High school was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I loved open lunch time, being able to choose different activities for P.E. (loved swimming and weights), and the variety of classes. Most days were usually entertaining. Between the school years and the summers, I met a lot of interesting people and learned a lot.
My favorite teachers in high school were Mr. Hall, Mr. Damhorst, Mr. Diaz, Mrs. Longbons, Mr. Hanske, Ms. Uranich, and Mrs. Nelson.
College
I went to college in Galesburg at Carl Sandburg Junior College. I went for an AA degree in journalism, however I did not finish because I chose to get married. My only memories of college is meeting a guy there that I dated for a few months that was 3 or 4 years younger than me. He was a lot of fun to be with and he...Expand for more
played piano very well. When we broke up he would go to the music room down the hall from my art class and play the piano, just to torture me. LOL I also met another guy that I dated for 6 months. He worked as a security guard there and I would go on rides with him for his "rounds". I also loved to go to the lake at the college during breaks and watch the geese.
Workplace
I started working at age 13 through the program JTPA. My first summer job was at Skip-A-Long daycare in East Moline. I worked in the 5 year old room and I loved it. I worked there in the same room the following summer. I wasn't allowed to work a third summer there, so I worked with 4-H youth groups. I also worked at Skip-A-Long during my junior year through the day care class at school. After high school my family moved away to the Galesburg area. I worked at a day care in Galesburg for 6 months. Then I moved back to the QC to live with an aunt and uncle. I found a nanny agency and got a job as a live in nanny/housekeeper in the Chicago area. That only lasted for 3 months because I met a guy and got pregnant. I really haven't worked since then, except for about a month when I was pregnant I worked at my parents fish store. The only work I really do anymore is volunteer based, and you might be able to count articles that I submit for payment at a website called Associated Content.
