While at Aiken I was Chaplain of the Hi-Y, President of Future Teachers of America, Vice President of our Class (what a campaign that was), member of our Band, remember playing in the orchestra for "Brigadoon", one of the Captains of the Football team, a captain of the track team, and Athlete of the Year as a Senior. I went to Miami University, played football, broke a leg, had blood clots in leg, heart and lungs, almost died, had to quit, then came back as a coach under the great Bo Schembechler. ays my first love. Over the years I coached basketball, football, wrestling and track, and after a 32 year exit from football, I am now the Varsity Head Coach in West Union Ohio, This is our first year as a varsity team and we tried to schedule a scrimmage agains Aiken this summer but Aiken was having problems getting kids out so we were not able to play. I have also been a 4-H advisor for close to 30 years - mainly working with horse projects. I have also been serving a small church as Pastor for over 15 years. I was married to Nancy LePere in 1968. She was from College Hill but attended Mercy.
We had 2 woderful daughters - Julie who is a fantastic 5th grade math teacher, and Kelley who won several 4-H state champonships with her horses and in geneology. She was killed in a car accident while in her early 20's. We have 2 grandchildren from Julie. Andrew is 6'2 and 276 pounds and in the 10th grade, playing Football, basketball and baseball (left handed pitcher), and Aden is in the 5th grade and is into everything. Nancy works as the Assistant Director of the Adams-Brown Community Action Agency and says that she is not quite ready to retire.
