Life
Stephen P. Dvarcas retired from the United States Air Force on 1 September 2000 after completing 26 years of active duty. He is 49 years old. Stephen, the son of Vincent and Constance Dvarcas, was born in Danielson, Connecticut, on 3 February 1956. While attending Killingly High School he was an active member of the Future Farmers of America and the recipient of the 1973 State of Connecticut Agribusiness Award for Excellence. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in August 1974. After completion of basic military training he attended the Aircraft Control Warning Radar Specialist course at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. His tours of duty included the 776th Radar Squadron, Point Arena, California and the 671st Radar Squadron, Key West Naval Air Station, Key West, Florida. clude the 1985th Communications Squadron, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, 1916th Communications Squadron, Pease Air Force Base, New Hampshire, 2146th Communications Group, Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, and the 63d Communications Squadron, Norton Air Force Base, California. His final assignment was with the 738th Engineering Installations Squadron, Keesler AFB, MS. He has served temporary duty at various locations stateside and overseas at Lajes Field, Azores; Royal Saudi Air Force Base, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and as a military liaison in Prague, Czech Republic. Stephen Dvarcas is married to the former Betty Dusseault of Danielson, Connecticut. They have three children, Lee Anne, Renee, and Bruce. He has received the Associate in Applied Science Degree from the Community College of the Air Force, and Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from William Carey College. He is currently a behavioral counselor with future plans of continuing his education to the doctorate level.
