Stephen's Story
Life
I currently live in a very small town in AR and like it here very much. I own a small music store as well as a regional sound and lighting production company. I mainly do work for Christian events and have worked with several well known Christian artists. I am married and have a 1 1/2 year old son. I am working on my 5th CD which should be released early next year.
School
I went to W.T.White High School from 82-86. Probably one of my best memories was when the band went to the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade. I remember a bunch of us throwing 5 gallon trashbags full of hot water out our 20th floor hotel room window only to hear a very loud BOOM when they hit the ground. We later discovered we were dropping these bags onto the roof of a police station! I bought a blue and black scarf that I still have to this day.
College
College, theres one for you! College was the greatest 10 years of my life! OK, not really. I started out as a radio/tv communications major at Dallas Baptist University. About 2/3rds the way through they dropped the ...Expand for more
major. I was forced to find another school. So I went to Cedar Valley College in Dallas in pursuit of an associates degree in recording technology. After a year of that I transferred to McLennan Community College in Waco where I studied Commerical Music. My intentions at that time was to get into Baylor. I got accepted the next year but ended up going to Ouachita Baptist University. There I got my degree in music finally. I started working on my masters a few years later but stopped to move to Houston to take another job. My best memory at Ouachita was a trip we took to Hawaii in '97.
Workplace
I have worked a lot of different jobs including Microsoft and IBM. One of my favorite jobs was with a production company out of Little Rock. We provided sound and lighting for huge events. I got to travel all around the country and meet people like Bill Gates, Shania Twain, 38 Special, Jars of Clay, and many others. I worked as a media technician at a university for a while. The benefits were great and I enjoyed meeting and working with the students.
