Stephen's Story
Life
I've been in U.S. Air Force for almost 21 years now and I'm stationed at Ramstein Air Base, Geramany.
My wife and I have two boys, Austin, 5 and Alex, 3. I also have a 17-year-old daughter from a previous marriage.
For most of my career I was a member of the Air Force World Class Athlete Program, which allowed me to live and train at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. After coming close in '96 and '00 to making the Olympic Greco-Roman wrestling team, I decided to retire from active c...Expand for more
ompetition, but that didn't last long. I now compete for a German team and won a bronze medal in the 2008 World Championships held in Perm, Russia. My goal is to win the title this year (2011) and make a run at the 2012 Olympics as a 45-year-old.
My Air Force job as a photojournalist has taken me to many places around the world also. I was in Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Korea, just to name a few. Between wrestling and my real Air Force job, I've been pretty much everywhere imaginable.
