STEPHEN (Steve)'s Story
Retired from Nestle in 2016 after 30 years with this company. Worked on Haagen-Dazs, Crunch Bar, Edy's (Dreyers) ice cream and Nesquik milk development and improvement. Now living on Maui. Married with 2 married kids (daughter in Columbus OH and the son in Cincinnati). No grands, yet.
Went to Purdue after JAHS, so am a Boilermaker, through and through. Where have I lived since SB? W, Lafayette, Indy, Richmond IN, Los Angeles, Syracuse, Chicago, Columbus OH, Bakersfield. Gotta keep movin'!
Keeping busy by volunteering at a local needs kitchen since 2017. Hale Kau Kau has been serving daily on Maui for over 31 consecutive years. Times are rough for many. Our kitchen gives the hungry a chance to look forward to at least one hot, nutritious meal each...Expand for more
day. I am honored to chair the organization's advisory board committee.
All things considered, my health is pretty good. Transitioned from tennis to pickleball in 2014. Love it. Play outside several mornings a week with views of the mountains and ocean. Using my experience to give beginner pickleball clinics.
Also am into swing and ballroom dancing over the past 25 years. Was a late starter, but I figured: IT IS NEVER TOO LATE. Get to preside over a chapter of Hawaii Ballroom Dance Assn. Am NOT an instructor, but enjoy learning from those that teach. Dancing on the cruise ships to live music is loads of fun.
Am going the the 50 year class reunion in August 2023. Can't wait to see long lost friends/acquaintances. "Party on, Wayne! Party on, Garth!"
