Stephen's Story
Life
Thirty-some years have come and gone quite quickly. Graduated from Penn State and Grad schools PSU, Univ. of Del, and GW; married, 2 wonderful sons, then divorced...and life goes on. Mother still alive living in Hazleton. My father passes away in 93 after a lengthy illness. Can retire in less than seven months. Am presently the Director of Reliability & Maintainability working for the defense department in charge of some 500 Army Programs. It's been a helluva ride. Soon time to relax and reflect on things.
I retired as R&M Director for AEC in May of 2008 after 33 years of government service. Currently I work part time as a Reliability Consultant for the Department of Defense. I have an active mind and still am constantly learning new things. I thrive on knowledge and am active in the political arena as well. I expect to "totally" retire to Florida within the next two years or maybe not :). I still like to fish and I do bodybuilding 6 times a week at a local gym, and at the age of 58 can still press 300lbs. (It's nice to see those twenty year old's jaws drop when I bench ha). I am still single and plan on staying that way; I've had my heart broken too many times. I love to sing and play my drums, had ...Expand for more
a band in the seventies and wrote and recorded a few songs. I love to cruise the Caribbean and hop out to Vegas at the spur of a moment. I am just a casual guy now wearing jeans and T-shirts that likes to have fun usually accompanied by some attractive, sexy, younger woman...:)...However, when all is said and done, family is the most important entity in my life. I am anxiously awaiting the birth of my first grandson in Jan 10. Nothing else really matters but them.
In High School I was the consumate Geek! I really didn't enjoy it, the teachers (who I look back now at their incompetence - sorry I don't hold back any more), and most of the students whose main goal in life was to be "cool" mostly at the expense of others. We all had a lot of growing up to do. I do miss the folks who I grew up with from Green Street, through Grebey, all the way through High School....you know who you are. I do regret that there were alot of beautiful young ladies in High School that I didn't get to know, who were very sweet and charming, due to my extreme shyness. My loss. My friendships with you will always be cherished. So, for anyone reading this, I wish you good health, continued happiness, and most of all peace be with you.
