Steve's Story
Life
I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 1994 with my Bachelors in Biology, then got my PhD from the Dept of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics at UCLA in 2000. I did my fellowship in cancer research at the City of Hope Cancer Center in Duarte, CA from 2001-2005. For those who wonder why my name is different from my high school name (Alas vs. Marroquin), I grew up with Mom and her side of the family. So, once I became old enough, I had my name officially changed to my family's name. Well, there it is in a nutshell. :)
