Steve's Story
Steve's life:
Retired in November 2009 and now have a radio gig...at the age of 63 I've become a disk jockey...check it out on Monday through Wednesday from 2-4 P.M. mountain time at kuvo.org...click on "listen now" and enjoy the jazz. Leading up to this...
...after college I spent a few years kicking around (it was the 60s and early 70s)winding up in California. Got fired for organizing a union where I was teaching and eventually went to work on the AFL-CIO national staff, living and working out of Denver where we still reside. I spent 25 years working on union political, legislative and organizing campaigns, with some international human rights work thrown in. Then spent ten years on the American Diabetes Association national staff doing legal advocacy projects and government relations. Just retired in November 09. Retirement...Expand for more
was encouraged by a second go around with lung cancer. 34th anniversary coming up(one marriage, isn't that unique?, with one daughter who recently moved to Qatar to run a nationwide English HS debate league. We've lived in Denver for 31 years. I enjoy jazz and recently became an occasional radio on-air host on KUVO Jazz89 which is also streamed live at KUVO dot org. Also enjoy cycling, poker, politics, and travel.
It's been a more exciting and fulfilling life than I ever anticipated.
School
Survived my teen years at WPHS playing hockey, cruising and not taking too much seriously. Somehow made it into college.
College
Drifted through four years at Plattsburgh in somewhat of a haze but eked out a degree. Grew a bit and earned a Masters in Urban Studies at Antioch College/West in San Francisco...as a much more serious student.
