Steve's Story
Life
Well, I left home right after the end of grade 13,with 2 suitcases, $20.00 and a dream.
I decided to skip University, school was so boring for me, my mind could not properly evolve, I felt that there was so much more to life than textbooks, lectures, being pennyless.
I answered a help wanted ad in the Montreal Gazette, and now nearly 30 years later, I work for the same company. I moved around a bit, 6 years in Montreal, and since then I have been in the Toronto area, with a year and half detour in Akron Ohio.
Many girlfriends, 2 wives ( both exe's now), and one daughter.
Life does go full circle it seems, I left home single, and now with possible early retirement next year, I now find myself single again.
School
Roscoe was my nickname towards the end of high school, I was ...Expand for more
the "mystery" writer whose mind provoking quotations kept people asking, "Who is Roscoe ?".
Well the writing did pay off to a point, I have had some works published, and acquired a small but albeit devoted following, but that was years ago, the writing stopped, as did many other things.
In high school I was the "French" expert ( it did help being born and raised in Montreal), and the "know-it-all", a reputation I gained from my "Reach for the Top" days.
I wish I should have played more sports though, as it turned out, my athleticism proved itself, with playing Soccer, Touch football in the Toronto league, Slowpitch and Fastball on various teams, hockey in mens industrial leagues, even broomball. But now my favourite is Golf ( comes with being middle aged ), like a natural progression....
