Favorite Quote
"We know that the latent intelligence, or the biological reservoir of experiences, touches our instinctive life, and through that the life of all animals."
-- Robert Bly,
in his book, "American Poetry"
Life
Served two years in Army, taught French and Spanish in these locations: Morenci AZ, Westport WA, and La Junta CO from 1966 to 1974. During teaching years worked summers at the three Prescott theatres. Entered accounting profession in 1974 and worked for Hennepin County (Minneapolis and environs) 1975-97. Retired in 1997. Have several children and grandchildren. Still use French and Spanish for reading fiction and for travel. School
I confess that I was a fairly poor student in high school, and working or goofing off when I should have been studying. The teachers I especially remember from high school are Mr. Mike, Miss Childress, Mr. Edelman, Mr. McNary, Mr. Bast, Mr. Lindsay. In Latin, Miss Childress was most memorable for her style, her energy level, discipline, and more.
College
B.S. in Business Administration, Arizona State University, 1961. Completed requirements for teaching certification in French and Spanish, University of Oregon 1963, and University of Arizona, 1964-65. Also attended University of Oregon and Mankato State University (Minnesota) for various post grad classes. There seemed to be a danger at some point of becoming a professional student.
