Steve's Story

Favorite Quote "We know that the latent intelligence, or the biological reservoir of experiences, touches our instinctive life, and through that the life of all animals." -- Robert Bly, in his book, "American Poetry" Life Served two years in Army, taught French and Spanish in these locations: Morenci AZ, Westport WA, and La Junta CO from 1966 to 1974. During teaching years worked summers at the three Prescott theatres. Entered accounting profession in 1974 and worked for Hennepin County (Minneapolis and environs) 1975-97. Retired in 1997. Have several children and grandchildren. Still use French and Spanish for reading fiction and for travel. inneapolis area. Please e-mail me if my name sounds a bit familiar. School I confess that I was a fairly poor student in high school, and working or goofing off when I should have been studying. The teachers I especially remember from high school are Mr. Mike, Miss Childress, Mr. Edelman, Mr. McNary, Mr. Bast, Mr. Lindsay. In Latin, Miss Childress was most memorable for her style, her energy level, discipline, and more. College B.S. in Business Administration, Arizona State University, 1961. Completed requirements for teaching certification in French and Spanish, University of Oregon 1963, and University of Arizona, 1964-65. Also attended University of Oregon and Mankato State University (Minnesota) for various post grad classes. There seemed to be a danger at some point of becoming a professional student.

Bud Grant was not only a fabulous Minnesota Vikings coach, he also played for the Lakers in 1949. Recognize those piercing eyes?
This is such a simple diet. I think "The Italian Diet" involves a lot more foods than this, but it seems like a good start. -- Thank you, Howard Don Reda!

I try to behave, but it's a challenge. I don't know why I get a -4%. Does that mean the world would be 4% better without me?

Food for Thought
Yikes! And the coldest month of the year has come and gone, theoretically!
UGO - Unidentified Ground Object, discovered today in our back yard, near a large bush For all I know, this object may fly as well. Diane thought it was made by some insects. I'm not so sure. Is there a fungus that migh
Initial public offerings: a lot of money is apparently being made (and lost, down the line). Some recent ones: Fresh Vine Wine, Immix Biopharma, Sidus Space, Bionomics, Ault Disruptive, Sidus Space, Samsara, and Genenta
Families are living in larger and larger houses, relative to the number of people per family. In this photo (can't remember source), they refer to both average house size (average = mean) and the median house size (size of
This was a request from Ray Hull. I've got all 50 stars (didn't chop off the left column), and did you know you can order a flag with grommets? Hope all 50 states are still with us (for good).

Celebrating upcoming Fathers' Day -- thinking of the first born of three splendid children.
How do you like this picture? What or who do you think it represents? Where are you in this picture? Is it art? There are no definite answers to these questions. How about more questions: Do you like these people, in
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.
Recortador jumping over his bull, from The Atlantic. Don't try this at home.
Goodbye, Barry. It's been a month now since you've been gone. Many people have been grieving, but I can only speak for myself. I'd like to have some of our early years back again. I treasure the good times we had togeth
My wife Diane and I at Forestville State Park (?) with friends in Oct. 2010. That was four whole years ago. Can't remember for sure, but I don't think either of us were stung by yellow jackets on this outing. As I recall
