Steve's Story

Okay, not that any of you might give a rats ass about me and my goings on but here you have it: After years of plugging away at a career and off and on tertiary education I finally succeeded in completing the 2 degrees needed and the work, internship and apprenticeship time to achieve a master cook status and was working as the corporate executive chef for a chain of resorts in the Caribbean when my life was turned upside-down by a devastating motorcycle accident on the island of Jamaica. I returned to the US (sorry to say since I promised myself I would not set foot there while that bush dude was prez) to receive quality med care and was bedridden for nearly two years. After I was mobile but unable to fully work in the capacity of a chef I took on a teaching position at a tech/trade school in Sichuan, China. I am now the Dean of the Western Culinary Arts programme there and have opened and established three restaurants, all of which present various grades and styles of quality western cuisine (my fave being the pizza, good pizza hard to find in China). At this point in time I have been living in China for six years and will most likely stay here for my remaining years as I now have a beautiful twenty something wife, ChenJun(I call her CJ) and, together, we have a lovely daughter, Essandra Xenia Evans or Essie for short. A few of other things about me: I have written and had published two fictional books, which I won't name here, one cookbook, I've studied TaiChi (TaiQi) for many years and am now learning a couple of different styles of KungFu (GongFu),in the early 80's I was the lead singer of a punk band based in Reno, NV, in the latter part of the 80's I was living, working and going to school in SoCal where I supported myself through school working as an actor in the Hollyweird scene (perhaps you saw me in Night Court where I was background for almost every show for 1 1/2 years), and I love to play computer games (currently the MM...Expand for more
ORPGs Warhammer and WoW are a big hit with me). I am tattooed and pierced on most of my body (no place that show unless I want it to, excepting the ears, yep, even my privates). I'm straight-edge (no drink, no smoke, no drugs, even though I did have my full share of everything in my yout'). I can speak pretty good Chinese, Spanish, Italian with a fair repertoire of French culinary terms. I specialize in Italian and Mediterranean cuisines but have a strong passion for American comfort foods, Texas, Mid-western,soul food, deep South, Cajun, Creole, Cuban and Caribbean fare. Basically your 'hard-on-the-heart foods.' I was a guest chef on the PBS series 'Grilling Maestros' (second season). I was an actor and co-booth owner at the Northern and Southern California Renaissance Faires for more than twenty years, where I was 'famous' for my hawking and knife throwing. I'm into alternative life styles and, in the past, was often found as a representative of and speaker for the BD/SM contingent at the swingers conventions in Las Vegas (for those of you who are curious, I'm a top preferring submissive women). I'm into scuba diving, long distance cycling, mountain biking (when I can find good trails) and playing with my lil' girl, Essie and our loving Dalmation, Gypsy. I don't drive anymore, don't own a car, don't want one, don't need one, I believe they are a waste of time, money, energy and all that is good. I don't own a house because I prefer to live in renovated warehouses and such...recycle, mang. And I surely won't vote in this years election because there isn't a damn person running that is even close to being qualified to run my beautiful home country...so I sit and watch them ruin my home country. Ooops, kinda got sidetracked....sorry 'bout that. OK, enough of my rantings and what now seems to me like a little too puffing of the chest and meandering of the mind, so I will bid unto those who took the time to read this, adieu, a good life to you.
