Steve's Story
I worked as a geologist with the US Geological Survey for thirty some odd years. First in earthquake research out of Menlo Park, CA where I learned about designing and using computer controlled instrumentation, and I later worked on Water Quality issues in the environment. I played a lot of tournament tennis over the years, and it became my favorite sport after college. I used to backpack and tent camp, now I can take more creature comforts. I still enjoy many outdoor activities (kayaking, bi...Expand for more
cycling, hiking, fishing, etc..), and (when I'm in town) I enjoy music and plays and other cultural events. I am still very comfortable at a mountain lake in the summertime, enjoying the view and hiking or trying to catch a trout for dinner. (Possibly I would be fly-fishing in a float tube, possibly fishing from my small boat.) Favorite national park so far is Glacier Park in Montana.
Have volunteered for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters and for Kings River, and American River cleanup days.
