Steve's Story

After high school I spend 4 years in the navy seeing a lot of the world. I took a job as a mechanic at the Cooper River DuPont plant after the navy. regreting not going on to college I spend the next 6 years getting a degree at the Baptist College while working at Dupont. It paid off as I got moved to Supervisor. I transfered from Cooper River to the Dupont plant in Seaford De discovering the love of my life, Pamela and moving up the ladder some more to site maintnenace manager. ton I spend some time in West Virginia at the Washington works plant and the Florence SC sites. I finally managed to get back to Cooper River when the Kevlar project started - took over 20 years but it was worth it. I am still working for Dupont but now as a Maintenance Consultant. I travel monday - thur to different sites helpping them improve thier maintenance fuctions. We are building a new house (contracting it ourselfes) and retirement is approaching maybe at the end of 2011. beyond the 6 kids between us and 11 grand childred that is about it.
