My Story
After High School I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona and went to work for the City of West Covina. I married my first wife Teri in 1977. We were blessed with two daughters Jennifer and Melissa. I stayed local over the years, and we bought our home in West Covina in 1986. Teri and I divorced in 1991. I remarried in 1996 to my current wife Jan. We merged our families and bought a home in the South Hills area of West Covina where we reside today. Together we’ve been blessed with 8 grand children and many happy memories.
In 1990 I ran for West Covina City Council and was elected by the voters. I was re-elected six times and served a total of 25 years on City Council. I served as the Mayor of West Covina for six of those years. Major accomplishments included closing the BKK landfill, opening the Sportsplex, building Hurst Ranch, Maverick Field a...Expand for more
nd Heritage Park, lighting every little league field, and building a strong fiscally sound city which in 2011 received the coveted “Most Business-Friendly City Award”. I retired in 2015 from Council as the longest serving elected official in the City’s history. I must add, the entire experience flew by so fast, it amazes me.
In 1980 I began a 33-year career with Southern California Edison. I retired in 2015 as a Scientist.
Over the years our family has traveled all over the world. We’ve visited every state and driven to Alaska four times. Hawaii is our favorite location.
My retirement time is consumed with family, grandkids, and sports. We’re big on holidays. I love to snow ski, play tennis/racquetball, senior softball, and boating. I workout regularly and enjoy a good dirty martini or cabernet with a steak. I look forward to staying active and enjoying life!
