Steve's Story
Life
After graduating from Brentwood High School, Ross Building, I attended Fordham University and graduated with a BA in Political Science.
I lived in Philadelphia for a year after college, working for a non-profit human services agency. I moved back to NYC and worked for a few years as a community organizer in the Bronx with a community development organization that was successful in revitalizing several blighted neighborhoods.
I then went to graduate school, and got a Masters in Urban Planning at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. While in grad school I worked in City government under Mayors Dinkins and Giuliani.

ea, living in Manhattan, Brooklyn and now Jersey City, where I've lived with my partner for the past 6 years.
Currently I'm Executive Director of a non-profit community development organization on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, which is working on some challenging housing, economic and cultural development projects. Despite the frustrations, I love my job, and working in downtown Manhattan is always interesting.
In my spare time, I play softball in a gay league; I collect music, read books when I have time, and go to films, theater and concerts. My partner and I like to travel within the United States, and down to Mexico in the winter.
