Any one who knew me well in school knows that I have always been into music, either playing or listening (or collecting - my biggest vice). Snapshot: After high school, I worked for a year to save money for college. From 1970-1972, I attended Harper Jr. College and received an AA in Liberal Arts. I moved down to SIU with my best friend from Harper, Jay Gawron, and met my first wife, Maggie, in one of my first classes. We married in 1973. I graduated from SIU in 1974 with a BS in English Education. I came back to the Chicago area (Wheaton) and worked at Bell Labs for another year. (I had worked almost every summer at Bell Labs during college.) My first wife and I went back to Grad school in 1975 as Graduate Assistants, as English majors.
