Steve's Story
Left LaMarque in 1960 and served 6 months active duty in Marine Corps and then to college. Graduated UT. Worked in the oil industry and started my own oil company in 1977. Married a college "sweetheart" and divorced after 33 less then happy years; remarried the love of my life in 1997 only to have her killed in a freak motorcycle accident in 1999, and was fortunate enough to marry the second love of my life in 2000. Have been competing in amateur bodybuilding competitions since 1992 and last competed in July at 67 years old. Wife, Jill, also a competitor. We are here to prove you are never too old and it is never too late. We live in Palm Springs, CA. Three children: two boys in New Mexico and one daughter in Houston. Three step children with deceased wife: Boy and two girls in Houston. Still get to Houston 4 times per year for business and family. Folks still alive in Henderson at 92 and 93 years old. Been happily married 72 years last Sept. Quite a record.
