Steve McCandless:  

After graduating from Bear Creek, I attended the University of CO in Boulder the following fall. The only thing I enjoyed about C.U. was my part-time on-campus job of working for the University catering department which allowed me and fellow employees to attend all of the various events held around campus. I left C.U. after a couple of years and took a one year sabbatical to work, make a little extra cash and earn a private pilot license. I love to fly! I returned to school but this time enrolled at Metropolitan State University of Denver. A much better fit for me and I graduated from Metro in 1981. Shortly after that I was hired at Oppenheimer Funds, a mutual fund company located in Centennial, CO. The job offers a great variety of projects, challenges and I work with a fun team of quality people. 2017 will mark 34 years with the company which surprises me as I never imagined working at the same firm for that long. I have a grown son named Thomas who is a wonderful young man that I am very proud of and I have a grandson named Adrian who was born in July 2010.
