Steve's Story

We moved to Colorado in 1973. I worked for structural engineering firms in the Denver metro area for over 30 years, commuting from the mountains 90 miles a day for most of those years, blizzard or not. We sold our house in Bailey, Colorado and moved to Lake City, Colorado 2 years ago (2006). Lake City is a small tourist town of about 500 year-round residents. The...Expand for more
population expands to approximately 1200 in the summer plus visitors. Local attractions are ice climbing, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, backpacking, fishing, etc. There are 5 fourteen thousand foot mountains in the area, 2 rivers, canyons, a lake and friendly people (many from the South). I climbed two of the fourteeners this past summer...it is beautiful on top.
