Heavily involved in Cub Scouting for several years, ending up with a three year stint as Cub Master for large Cub Scout pack.
Coached Little League for several years, then switched over to umpiring and ended up doing that for 9 years. Little League up through high school level.

Variety of technical, managerial, and economic planning/optimization roles. One eight year assignment required a fair bit (6-8 weeks a year) of international travel. I spent quite...Expand for more
a bit of time in England & The Netherlands, with trips to Belgium, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Canada, Japan, China, and Singapore mixed in as needed.
Currently manage a chemical engineering group, at our technology center, who build computer simulation/optimization models of refineries.
Interests:
-> guitar - rock, folk, country, been working at it for about five years, fleet of five guitars (so far).
-> road cycling - been doing this since spring 1973 when Tim Rookis and I got our first "real" bikes
-> hiking, backpacking, camping - preferably in the mountains somewhere, recently in Alaska, Colorado, and North Carolina
-> weight training
-> live music - some bigs shows, but more into small venues with good blues and acoustic music
-> history, military history, genealogy
-> music theory & composition - got into this as part of the guitar training and found that I really enjoy the analytical aspect of music as well
