Steve's Story
Retired June 01, 2011. Amen.
Now that both daughters are married and out of our nest we have decided to downsize. Moved back into the house I grew up in near Memorial H.S. Least I can walk to school during soccer season.
Didn't know retirement could be so hard. Picked up a part time job at the Elliot Hospital. to keep my sanity. No, not as a brain surgeon.
The money pit has drained the profits from the sale of our house. Maybe we need to go back to work. Till than peanut butter and macaroni and cheese, Maybe I should ask the kids for a loan. Ha ha ha. Should have stayed in St. Maartin but I'd miss the dogs not the kids.
Had my second total knee replacement week before Xmas. Thought this one would be easier than the first. Wrong. Oh well. hope the snow stays away for awhile till I get back on my ...Expand for more
feet. Daughter # 1 pregnant and expecting a son. Now we will have a granddaughter and grandson from our two daughters. Happy Holidays friends. Be Safe.
Back to work and all the other joys of life. Knee feels better than before surgery, though it has its moments. Getting ready to get the camp open and the Mustang out of hibernation.
Daughter #1 had a son, Cooper Marshall Gatcomb the last weekend in April. We are blessed to have a granddaughter and grandson. The circle begins again.
Another year of soccer with the Girls soccer program at MMHS. Not a great team but they became competitive. Nobody ever outworked them.
A big downer this past week. My wife of 31 years Patricia passed away. Three weeks before we were headed to Can Cun and South Beach for two weeks. Sometimes life just doesn't seem fair.
