Stephen's Story
Since High School (The heavily redacted, highly condensed, less tedious, readers digest version):
Went on walkabout in Australia, late 1968 - '69, for 6 months to figure out what to do about college and the draft. Legally beat the draft 1971. Married Catherine (Catie) Crockett in 1972. Obtained my BS in Wildlife Management, UNR, 1973. Professionally; went to work for the Federal Government USFS in 1976. Worked in resource / wildlife professional capacities in Wyoming, Idaho and Alaska. Left the federal government in 1990 and did my M.Sc in Wildlife Management (University of Pretoria) on a scholarship in South Africa. Subsequently I worked private sector jobs in South Africa and the US; including NGO's. Managed a 25000 acre private reserve in South Africa and was a licensed professional hunter there. ld director for an American NGO (Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation) in Washington and Alaska. Later I worked for 11 years with the state of Nevada primarily as a Regional Manager, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Parks (commissioned State Ranger badge #14 ) . I retired out of that position in 2009 and returned to South Africa to develop my 200 acre property. Finally, returning to the US permanently in 2013, I again worked for the State of Nevada, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources as a Conservation Specialist; involved with several counties in the mitigation of the federal government's ridiculous Sage hen mandates. Resigned and returned to live in Idaho in 2015. Two sons, no known grandchildren. Currently; Outspoken, knowledgeable, well traveled, well educated, well read, internationally published raconteur, and now a fully retired has been.
