Steve's Story
The earth cooled... the dinosaurs came and went... then I was born as an Army Brat in Fort Monmouth. Traveled the world (Georgia, Alaska, New York, North Carolina, Germany). Landed back at Fort Monmouth to graduate from MRHS.
Went to the University of Lincroft (more like high school with ash trays). I won a contest where Richard Nixon gave me an all expense paid trip through the Army. Our very own Joan Dixon (no, not the Psychic) processed me in.
Did basic training in Fort Dix and went to advanced training at... wait for it... Fort Monmouth. Came out as top honor graduate from the Television Equipment Repair Course where I learned the fine details of TV station operation and production. Traveled the world some more (Georgi...Expand for more
a twice, Korea for 12 months, 29 days, 16 hours and 46 minutes).
Got a job working Television in Annandale VA, worked more Television for a school system in Falls Church VA, worked more Television at Xerox in Leesburg VA, started up what became the largest Video Post Production company in the Mid-Atlantic (in Arlington VA) with a partner which lasted 25 years for me (they're circling the drain now but it was a good ride).
Got married the day before John Lennon was shot. It was fine for four years, got out in eight. Popped out two mini-Steve's in that time. Six years later married my best friend who's a geek chick and semi-pro Volleyball player.
Currently Chief Engineer at the National Geographic Channel in Washington DC.
