Steve's Story

What ever happened to Me ?? After escaping Villa Park via the U S Navy I worked for 3 years on P- 3 aircraft and moved on to A-6s aboard the US Nimitz for a 3 year stint. I really hated the Navy so after My discharge I moved to Va Beach for a little vacation were I started doing a little surfing and a allot of relaxing but still found time to start a small landscaping company that I hated, so I sold that and moved the the outer banks (Kill Devil Hills) and founded the outer banks surf shop, I was able to keep that going for a few years but hated the winters and cold water so I moved to Florida for a little more surfing and relaxing. I also changed My name around the same time to Forest. After a few years the money started to run out so I responded to and add for a job as crew on a mega yacht departing for a summer in France, It turns out I got a job as deck hand on the Yacht Princess Tina (145 feet) and spent a few years working my way up to first mate. I loved the boat and the entire crew but I really wanted a change of pace so I took a job on the motor yacht Illusion ( the Fed ship 130 something) as engineer and spent another summer working in the Med and down in the islands but I really felt it was time to move on after working my ass off on that boat so I decided to take a year off and get My captains ticket. After a major winter in the Islands I went back to Ft Lauderdale for a few classes and ended up as captain on the motor yacht Octopussy ( 140 feet) what a great job that was all summer in the south of France ( St Tropez) and all winter in Palm Beach. That boat was sold so I took a summer job in the Hamptons running a little 100 foot yacht for two summers and spending winters in Miami. As luc...Expand for more
k would have it the owner decided to build a new yacht in Taiwan and offered Me a chance to oversee the design and construction of the 108 foot Hargrave yacht Freedom, well that took almost two years so during my extended stay in Taiwan I decided to start Pan Asian Yacht Service and have been living in Taiwan ever since. I spend most of my time going back and forth from Taiwan to China to Hong Kong over seeing the construction of yachts from 50 feet to a 240 feet so if You ever want to build a new yacht give Me a call or visit My web site. I do find time to go to most of the major boat shows, Monaco, Ft Lauderdale, Dubai, Dusseldorf but other then that I don't travel as much as I use to. As I'm sure You can understand I never did marry what with all the travel and all those ports I just never found the time. So what next ?? I'm not really sure yet but its been one hell of a ride, I was thinking I might move back to Villa Park some day and retire but its a long way to St Tropez and Id miss Le Cave Du Roy in summer and I just built a new house in Taiwan, Pintung. Its funny I was a bit of an F up back then but its all seemed to work for the most part and I cant complain much. I do wish I had stayed in school but then I might have needed up stuck in Villa Park for the rest of my life working at some boring job wising I had done something else, at least I would be able to write a decent profile. What I miss the most. Its a little hard to explain but after all of my travels I kind of regret not staying in touch with all of You in some ways we were all lie a family dysfunctional as hell but family none the less. And some of You girls were smokin hot back then and some of still are I bet. Steve Forest Ziakowski,
