Steve's Story

Life I got out of the navy in '97 and went to Ohio State to get a degree in Occupational Safety and Health and Electronics Engineering. After returning to Denver, I joined the rodeo circuit as a PRCA bull rider and steer wrestler. I was given the great opportunity to join the PBR as a professional Bull Rider. Not only was I able to compete in the '99 National Western Stock Show and Rodeo for both the PBR and PRCA, but I competed in Houston, Dallas, Cheyenne, Lincoln, and Colorado Springs. Also during that time I could be found often at Comedy Works in downtown Denver performing scripted stand-up and also was a full-time member of 'Comedy Sports' where we performed at the Impulse Theater beneath the Wynkoop Brewery. There we performed all improv comedy (which I am best at) and had a great time. As a stand-up,I opened for David Chapelle (3 times; once at the Paramount Theater), Jim Brewer and Larry the Cable Guy (who ironically is originally from Denver and has NO accent!) to name a few. Being a local icon took it's toll and I have not performed in quite some time. In September of '04, I married again to Danielle whom I worked with at AT&T. We went to Cozumel Mexico for 8 days and I had my first experience with scuba diving and swimming with dolphins. Boy how I miss the local tequilla! We just bought a house in Aurora and I have recently graduated from Lincoln College of Technology. I start...Expand for more
ed school in October of '04 and graduated November 2nd, 2006 with A Degree in Auto and Diesel Technology and Business Management. As most of you know, I play drums, piano/keyboard and both acoustic and electric guitar. I've written many instrumental songs and some with lyrics. In fact, music is so important to me that I decided to get out of the auto repair business and work full-time in music. I am now working my dream job at Guitar Center in Denver off of Colorado Blvd and I-25. I am able to network with some truly talented musicians and have access to the best equipment in the world. I cannot complain about my awesome employee discount either! Needless to say that my equipment collection is constantly growing. I now have a studio keyboard from Fatar with sound modules by Alesis, 2 acoustic guitars and 1 awesome electric. It is a '97 custom Gibson Nighthawk with a Floyd-Rose bridge...LOVE IT!!! I am in the process of purchasing a Schecter Hellraiser guitar and have also put on order an Ibanez Prestige (S5470F), which is one of the best metal guitars ever made (see Shadows Fall, Avenged Sevenfold and Godsmack among others). Soon, I will have a full studio in my basement equipped for digital MIDI recording, once I obtain my Roland TD-20S V-PRO series drumset that is! Hope to hear from alot of you!!! Feel free to stop by Guitar Center and say hi! Peace, love, dope and Rock-n-Roll!!!
