Steve's Story
After graduating Cordova, I spent 3 years with the U.S. Army in Germany, where I began my first career -ÂÂ law enforcement. Upon returning to CA, I spent 9 years with the Oakland Police Dept, then transferred to the Sacramento Police Dept, where I was injured on the job, and eventually forced to retire early on a medical.
During my 20 year law enforcement career, I did lots of teaching at community colleges and police academies. To this end, went back to school for a couple of years, to attain a grad degree in order to teach at the university level. I did then teach for the following 15 years as a criminal justice professor at a number of college...Expand for more
s and universities. Unfortunately, along with many others, I was recently laid-off.
I was married once (17 years) to a wonderful lady. We had no children and parted as friends shortly after my first career ended.
Since most of my teaching in the latter years was online, it allowed for incredible flexibility. As a result, I moved to WA State for 11 years (a place I enjoy and always wanted to live). I have recently returned though, and am currently living in the Lake Tahoe area.
I'ÂÂm very much looking forward to seeing all of you at the reunion. Thanks Michelle and the others for your dedication and hard working in making this reunion happen. ;-)
