Steve's Story
WOW! It's like getting the chance to write my memoir...oh wait, I'm near death, I hope not! Life, for me, is still moving full steam ahead.
After high school, I first went to MiraCosta College and then I was on the Cal State University and UC campus tour. As a college cheerleder, I went where I could cheer....San Diego State, Cal Poly SLO, UCLA..... graduate? classes? major? OH heck, that wasn't what that was for, it was about the Experiences and I had many great ones. It wasn't until I moved to Florida that I finally finished my undergraduate degree at Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida and then went on get my Master's in Education when I lived in Hawaii.
During my university 'tour' I started working at Disneyland... started as a summer job, performing in the entertainment department and then one summer led to 25! d living in Paris for a year on the opening team for Disneyland Paris. I spent the majority of my Disney years at Walt Disney World in Florida working in a variety of operational and leadership positions including resort operations, human resources, Disney University and the Disney Institute.
Upon completing my 25 years with Mickey Mouse, I said, now what? I started my own consulting and seminar business, selling to organizations my expertise in developing a valuable service culture. Part of my business has afforded me to travel the globe where I conduct keynotes and seminars on five continents.
Today, I am working in the Middle East - in Qatar, developing an organizational culture for a greenfield healthcare project. Its an amazing adventure and one that will keep me here for a few years. Living as an expat is exciting, especially when the salary is tax free. LOL!
