Steve's Story

How do you hope old friends remember you? As a friend. I always wanted to be a Naval Aviator when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were disappointed. How do you blow off steam? Describe your favorite way to relax.I blow off steam by hiking in the beautiful mountains in North Idaho. What's the wildest thing you ever did in school? Partied and I will leave it at that, he,he,he. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have outdoor work, friendly workers, and good pay to be able to deal with the day-to-day. Do you have a hero? Talk about where your inspiration comes from. I do have a hero in Louis Lamour, but I get my inspiration from my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Where have you lived? Why did you move? I lived in California for 37 years and then moved to North Idaho for personal reasons. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Liz Hernandez, because she was my first girlfriend. Sports. Reality TV. Pets. Share your obsessions. Two of my obsessions are fantasy football and hunting. Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. What's been your biggest surprise? The biggest surprise in my life was accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the whole house and add on a weight room. My dream home would be a log cabin in the high country of the Rocky Mountains. Parent? Share what you've learned from your kids. I have never been married or had any kids. Which teacher would you love to see again? Why? The teacher I would like to see would be my third grade teacher Mrs. Dowd, because there were some boys that were going to kick my butt after school, well Mrs. Dowd found out about it and kept them boys after school long enough for me to get home. If I won $100 million, I'd give a big chunck of it to my church and missions, then spend the rest on my family, friends and me. Ever live in a dorm? Join the Greek system? Talk about campus life. I lived in a dorm in the military and it was no fun. To be truly happy, you would be where, doing what, with whom? To truly be happy I would be in the Rocky Mountains huntin...Expand for more
g Elk with my wife(that is if I had one) My current age is 51. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be so out of touch. I was so completely WRONG. Working hard? Reveal your career aspirations. At the age of 51 my career aspirations are to RETIRE. What happened to my first crush, I don't know. My best friend would tell you I'm a good friend, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a big meanie. Still dress like you did 10 (or 20) years ago? Talk style. I do, my style is 501 levi's and t-shirts and that's what I wear today, when I dress up I wear 501 levi's and a t-shirt with a button up shirt over the t-shirt. What's the weirdest job you ever had? I have never really had a weird job. I share my home with room mates, which I find very comfortable. Got trophies on your mantel? Share a big victory. I've got no trophies on the mantel and no big victory stories to share yet, but when I get my first bull Elk I will not only have a trophy, I will have a victory song and story. You get one do-over. What do you do differently? If I got one do over, I would do it sober and clean and saved through and through. In 10 years, I hope to be RETIRED. I'm going to get there by one day at a time.. Talk about your oldest friend—how you met and why you clicked. My oldest friend is David Akers, we met in second grade and we had such things in common as Steven in our names, we both were left handed and enjoyed many of the same activities. What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? I believe the biggest surprise to my classmates at a reunion would be that I am a Born Again Christian. My first job was at AirLine Parts Company, where I got paid to pull parts off the shelf to repair airplanes. What I remember most about it is BOREDOM. Share a childhood memory you'll never forget. A childhood memory I will never forget is, one day me and my family were pulling out of the driveway and my dad thought there was a bag in the driveway that he was going to run over, so he stopped to check out the bag only to find out it was a great big old turtle that we ended up keeping as a pet.
