After high school, I went to Washington University for 4 years. I quickly realized that I was an average "smart" kid at Wash U. I graduated with a biology degree hoping to go to medical school. I had a few interviews but I didn't get accepted. My grades just weren't quite high enough. I guess I should have picked an easier school (or studied more and partied less...nah). After Wash U, I came to Texas and went to Texas A&M University. Because my father lived down here, I got accepted as a resident. In state tuition was unbelievably CHEAP at that time. So I got an electrical engineering degree since I didn't know what else I wanted to do. I had A LOT of fun here. I waited tables and worked as a DJ in a night club while I went to school. I really didn't like anything about electrical engineering, but I didn't want to quit since at that point I'd been going to college for about 6 years and everyone told me that's where a lot of job openings would be. I received my EE degree in 1988. But I was having so much fun that I decided not to leave. So I started working at a real job, met my wife and got married in 1991. We've been here in College Station ever since. I can't believe I've lived here for almost 26 years. We owned a large Mexican Restaurant (over 100 employees) for about 6 years.
